CURRENT PROJECT: COVID COVERS

To liven up the monotony of quarantine, we’ve been recording duets in our home studio. We got started on March 25, after friend and filmmaker Lynn Shelton asked us to film ourselves singing 10 seconds of a song, a cappella, for a compilation. We went with a minimalist version of “Subdivisions” by Rush. We had so much fun doing it, the next week we sang a full minute’s worth of “4th of July” by Soundgarden. Since then we’ve settled on 60-second mini-covers as our format—dialing up the complexity as we go. Who knows how far we’ll take this… or how long the pandemic will last.
